Why Must the Stadium Be Renovated?

The present stadium field provides only limited functionality to athletic events.  The home soccer field for both the high school boys’ and girls’ teams is currently at Uihlein Soccer Park.  The proposed Stadium field will be wide enough to accommodate a full-size soccer field.

A single football game, played in inclement weather, can destroy the playing surface for the entire year.  The proposed field turf for the Stadium field will alleviate this problem as well as significantly reduce the cost of maintenance and repairs to the field.

The current track is in need of resurfacing.  The proposed Stadium will include a new asphalt and rubberized surface. 

The Stadium was once a source of pride for the community hosting not only athletic events, but also family-friendly activities.  The proposed Stadium will allow for a wider variety of use and become a central focus for the Village.
